Locally owned Joy of Tokyo opened its doors in 2003 after seeing an opportunity to disrupt the food industry with quick service Hibachi and Japanese style food. The original partners felt that Hibachi style food was typically expensive and for special occasions so they set out to serve affordable, fresh Japanese food to the masses. Today, Joy of Tokyo has grown to 8 locations in Upstate South Carolina with more slated to open in coming years. Their food is known throughout the area as delicious, fresh, and affordable with many making special trips just to buy their signature white sauce.

Fresh, hot, with some of their unique white or ginger sauce and I'm ready to go. Always find it to be made fresh, cooked to order and at good value prices. Top that off with a spring roll or tempura vegetables to make it a full lunch.”
